Master Lam Sai Wing and his Disciples  enter “The Society for Cooperation” with the aim of mutual confrontation to robbers and cutthroats.

This is just one of the events expounded to readers. The police department in Canton was informed about that incident. However, a police squad, which carried out an investigation, did not get to the root of the matter and closed the case. That's why many shop keepers and wine shop owners began to hire strong guys to protect their property and to keep order. Lam Sai Wing also took part in the organization of self-defense and everybody appreciated it. After that event Lam and his disciples were busy with guarding various establishments. After hearing about the famous Master Lam Sai Wing who restrained ruffians from robbery and outrages, a lot of follows joined the master.

Once Master Lam Sai Wing followed by his disciple Zhu Yu-zhai called "Shrimp" went to an out-of-doors theatre stage to see a performance. During the performance of the classic opera they were introduced to Li Shi-gui, a low-rank military commander. In certain circles he was known as a specialist in fighting arms, but until that time they did know each other. Li Shi-gui also dealt with problems of defense against robbers. They arranged a meeting to discuss the problems.

A lot of people, known and unknown, gathered at that meeting, Master Lam's disciples were present too. The decision adopted was to unite efforts with Mr. Li and other esteemed people, to keep together and to take coordinated actions aimed at all-round defense against robbers. Everybody favored the idea: "With the Aid of Fighting Arts to Stop Outrages and Violence". Zhu and many other people expressed their opinions, many addressed Master Lam their complaints. Master Lam promised to go into every detail, but also reproached their disciples by saying: "You, too, already become enlightened people and understand the core of the things. Why cannot you realize that goods for traders are a source of profit; you and other reckless people take their goods free of charge instead of buying them; you also do not buy theatre tickets."

All came to the common conclusion that robbers should be decisively repulsed. Furthermore, it was necessary to re-arrange various provisions and rules for the settlement of disputes and to make them a law with the aim to stop squabbling and paying off of personal scores. Also, our aim is not to permit the use of fighting arts for oppression of laobaisin (ordinary people) in order not to have a bad reputation among later generations. The young and the vigorous, who are just entering the social life, must take an example of great people and be generous-hearted and virtuous. If somebody with an undeserved honor to hear do not listen to these words, then, let him blame himself. All disasters are caused by one's foolishness!
Master Lam Sai Wing also made many remarks and expressed wishes in the same vein. He finished his speech and took a seat. Some of those who was present at the meeting raised his hand, stood up and said that if it is acceptable, what can be called unacceptable?

Master Lam Sai Wing said that no need to prove to themselves and to others their own innocence, one should wash disgrace with their own deeds. Master Lam knew that it was difficult to find the right arguments, one must convince with his own example. As he contemplated about the welfare of the society for a long time, he understood that one should not act rashly and at random.
